From the lanai, two watercourses are immediately evident: a stream cascading melodically into three pools and a wild rockstrewn river roiling its way down to the nearby ocean beach. The flowing waters immediately fill your senses with their peaceful music and are situated amidst the privacy of three incredibly verdant acres. After a hot day on the beach or the trail, a retreat to the cooling breezes and peaceful water song of this magical garden spot is always most welcome. Sometimes an entire day can be whiled away at A River House when the hammock beckons and where the jungle is at your backdoor.
Two of A River House's acres are still primal jungle and one acre is gardened to include the flower- rimmed pools and a wild river plunge. There is a profusion of edible fruits: coconut, avocado, orange, lychee, banana, papaya, lime, tangerine, starfruit, mountain apple, longan and eggfruit. Gardenias, hibiscus, birds-of-paradise, orchids, gingers, tree ferns, heliconias, and others ... and others, grace the landscape with an amazing vigor.
