Villa Karina was built (2003) by one of the customers of Turquoise Water Rentals whom booked on different vacations several of the villas; they fell in love with the area and decided to build their own villa in Puerto Morelos. They took structural aspects from each of the villas they stayed which they liked and added it to their own design creating a truly beautiful and very well laid out villa. Then they went to town and furnished the whole villa in imported Tommy Bahama furniture and linens.
They hated to move back to the states (their son is finishing up collage) they now returns a few times of the year to enjoy their home in Mexico, in the mean time they hope that you enjoy the villa as much as they do.
The pool/patio and surrounding yard is set higher than the beach and is surrounded by a tall privacy walls on each side, and a small wall beachside allowing a view of the beach and ocean.
The Cancun & Playa del Carmen lack the colonial town setting that most of the rest of Mexico has, however the exception is Puerto Morelos which has a town square surrounded by neighborhood shops, restaurants and the center of the community the Church. The town square is the center of activity, most any night of the week there is a soccer game going on (Mexican's call it futbol), there is a play ground area for the kids and a gazebo that at times have band playing and on Wednesdays the center of town host a farmers market.
It's a place where if you visit you will find yourself intermingling with people whom live there year round. A large percentage of the population are Americans and Canadians whom work in Cancun or are retired and live there full-time, they like the quietness, the lower cost and the closeness to Cancun that Puerto Morelos has to offer.
