The apartment, is located at Piazza S. Egidio which you will see from any map is located roughly between Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere and the Tiber. Look also for Via della Scala and Vicolo del Cinque as streets which lead to it. It is a three-room apartment with a large bedroom (double bed) and plenty of closet space, a large eat-in kitchen and a living room that looks out on the piazza.The bathroom though narrow, is quite modern, and pretty, although there is a shower, not a tub. There are ceiling fans in all three rooms and in the summer there is air conditioning as well.
Roughly 60 square meters or 700 feet, the apartment is on the second floor, European-style, which means there are two flights of stairs. There is no elevator.It has lovely wood, beamed ceilings in all three rooms and is very cozy and warmly furnished. It differs from many of the others on the market because of its real, lived in feeling. Along with its attractive furnishings, new, firm mattress, and extremely well-appointed kitchen, there are several hundred books, a broad selection of guidebooks and maps, TV with satellite giving you access to dozens of Italian and foreign channels. There is also a computer for checking e-mail, a VCR and a CD-cassette player with radio. And generally, except in the coldest part of the winter, there are lots of people walking about an enjoying the scene since, as you probably know, Trastevere is a sort of Roman Greenwich Village or Marais and is consequently quite lively. During the day the cafe is a nice place for a light lunch and of course Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere is great for coffee in the morning, and for people-watching, one of Italy’s oldest and favorite spectator sports.
