Sequoia is the most spacious of La Palanque’s 5 star gites situated at the end of a converted barn with a walled terrace overlooking the garden and unique views of the meadow and trees which stretch down to the river Dropt. The accommodation is spread over two floors, with three bedrooms and three bathrooms. The master bedroom has an ensuite furnished with a standalone bath and walk-in shower. The second bedroom upstairs is a good sized twin bedroom with ensuite shower. The windows offer stunning views of the meadows.
The downstairs open-plan living space is light and airy with a beautiful high-vaulted ceiling that gives the residence an elegant feel and shows off some of the retained original stonework, it is also a perfect setting to relax in comfort on a choice of generous sized sofas. Opening out from this area is Sequoia’s own sizeable private garden with table and BBQ.
The U shaped kitchen with ample food preparation space flows into the dining room, which has a large table to accommodate up to six.
Guests in the downstairs bedroom can sleep soundly if others wish to stay up chattering thanks to sound insulation in walls and doors (this is a feature of all five gites). There is a shower and loo downstairs, too. (Sequoia sleeps six adults and has two cots)
La Palanque is a mini-complex of 5 independent fully furnished and equipped, high end, newly built gites. Each gite has its own private space and gas BBQ as well as access to the 25-acre site, which features, a stunning 25 metre heated pool with sun loungers, slides and a separate toddler pool in a gated area with changing rooms.
There are two children play areas with swings and slides and climbing frames, trampolines. There is also an all weather mini cricket practise pitch with net and bowling machine for youngsters, there is also a football pitch with portable goal posts, numerous bicycles, a small wooded area with tall poplars and fields to riverside walks and fishing on the river. There is a large communal terraced area with tables and chairs, a BBQ and wood fire pizza oven to enjoy larger get-togethers. La Palanque is an ideal place for children of all ages. There is also a function room that may also be used for a bit of yoga and meditation.
La Palanque has it's own on-site concierge team who will do all they can to ensure your stay is relaxing and memorable. The onsite team are happy to make restaurant reservations as well arrange on-site catering, or perhaps organize a day out at one of the many vineyards and local attractions. With our flexible arrival dates and a minimum stay of just 3 nights, even in the peak season, La Palanque is perfect for weekend or midweek breaks, get-togethers with friends, celebrations, weddings, corporate team days or more traditional family holidays.
