DESCRIPTION
Located directly across the road and through a Pohutukawa Reserve from the shores of idyllic Wharekaho (aka Simpson’s Beach), which is just an eight-minute drive north of central Whitianga.  The very hospitable Owners live upstairs and will offer you the use of fishing gear, boogie boards, wave ski, snorkeling gear, picnic hamper and thermos flask and possibly a small dinghy. They are very knowledgeable about the area and can be called upon for information about fishing, diving, sightseeing etc should you wish them to, or assure you of complete, uninterrupted privacy if you’d prefer.

Features Description

A spacious two bedroom flat with two living areas, this downstairs flat is set in extensive gardens offering relative seclusion and privacy, with ranchsliders leading off onto a small deck set in a rock garden. Sleeps 4 comfortably in the two bedrooms but can sleep up to 6 utilizing the fold-out couch in the second living area (surcharges would apply). Linen & bath towel provision are included with this property, but you will need to bring your own beach towels.

Surrounding Description

Wharekaho, also known as Simpsons Beach, is located within an eight minute drive north of central Whitianga. The beach is two kilometers in length and offers small surf which is good for boogie-boarding, and enjoys semi-sheltered almost estuary like conditions and safe anchorage from all but easterly storms.

Nearby Attractions Description

There are tuatuas, paua, mussels and fishing spots in the area, surfcasting is possible at both ends of the beach. Crayfish (by snorkel) and scallops (by scuba diving) spots are within 20 minutes There are walks of historic interest and scenic places in the district. There are no shops in Wharekaho, the nearest being Whitianga.
