Casa Colibri is a luxurious, private villa in Punta el Custodio, an exclusive community of 14 houses situated on a bluff jutting into the Pacific Ocean. A world-class surfing beach is just 60 yards from your doorstep!
You can enjoy whale watching, bird watching, take a jungle cruise, go deep sea fishing, visit ancient Huichol Indian sites. Casa Colibri is four separate structures, three of them loft palapas, all connected by a walkway covered in flowering vines. The house comes with a housekeeper/cook. You don't have to do anything but lie back and relax. It's just 74 miles north of the Puerto Vallarta airport, and pick-up and drop-off can be arranged, or you can rent a car.
Punta el Custodio offers world-class bird watching. In the primeval mangrove swamps just a short boat ride up the estuary, you can view thousands of shore birds, ducks and raptors, from tiny sandpipers to herons that are four feet tall. When they are startled and take wing, the sky is briefly darkened by their numbers. Or you can book a guided bird watching trip into the nearby mountains to view rare upland species. Make sure to bring a good pair of binoculars: you'll need them!
