BUDGET TRAVEL article dated 4/23/07. These charming MURPHYS cottages are a hit with all who have experienced it. It is surrounded by pasture on two sides while having the distinction of being one block and 4 houses from Main Street - so walking is an easy stroll to shops, restaurants of all kinds and prices, and wine tasting. Lovely park with year round creek and gazeboes one and a half blocks away.The kitchens are well equipped, dining seats 6 inside and 4-6 for outdoor dining in the patio. The rooms are inviting, comfortable and professionally decorated and on a 3 acre property.Wild life is abundant with quail, an occasional fox, birds of all kinds, Canadian geese, sometimes the sound of a rooster crowing or a frog croaking, beautiful golden hawks that return each year, rabbits and even a marmot one time that must have been confused, along with many deer.We are located a little more than a mile from IRONSTONE WINERY where there are fabulous summer concerts, weddings and other special events. Live music is played mostly in summer months in various establishments.
Water skiing, spelunking, snow skiing, fishing, hiking, Lake Alpine and New Melones Lake are favorites.
